Y'all! Have you ever been to a TGI Fridays on a Friday? Well let me tell you what! I have! Last Friday night (at the time of writing this) I had the opportunity of going to a QC Storm match where we had rink-side seats. We had a pregame dinner at Fridays, so of course I had to get some wings. #DoItForTheBlog, amiright? I kinda wish I didn't, but I did. So here's the post. Later that night, we did choose to "get down" as the kids say, but these wings definitely established a solid zero-point to measure the growth of fun throughout the night.
I don't mean to be too negative, but the bone-in wings from Fridays just aren't good. The best part of these wings is the sauce, and there's barely any of it on the bone-in wings, so save yourself the time and get the boneless wings. To quote my newest Wingman, Meredith B., "They're like wet chicken nuggets. I really like them! They hurt my mouth, but in a good way." Other Wingmen (Kristen O., Travis N., and Rebecca B.) were less impressed, so it's up in the air whether or not you'll like them. Although my official tasting was with the Whiskey Glaze sauce, a sauce that Fridays is pretty famous for, I also tried the new Apple Butter BBQ sauce and I'd recommend that just as much if you get the boneless wings. Don't get the traditional wings. They're tough and slimy at the same time, and it's just not good.
Side note: If you've ever been interested in the validity of a restaurants "Endless ____" policy, check out this post from Gawker.com about a woman who ate the mozzarella sticks from TGI Fridays for 14 hours and lived to regret the tale.
Finally, this is the 17th official wings tasting published on KevinEatsWings.com, so that means that we're approaching our next milestone of 20 posts! Like I did after 10, I'll be doing another analysis of the wings I've eaten up to that point, and I'd like your input on what you'd like to know in that analysis. If you've got any ideas, leave a comment, text me, or tell me in person! And if you're worried that I'm going to run out of wing places soon, don't worry. I'm about halfway through my list, and it keeps growing.
